Detectives are currently probing the homicide of a 62-year-old businessman, Erastus Muturi Wanyoike, at his establishment in Ngoliba, Thika East, Kiambu County. Details on Rachael Kanini’s murder emerge
The victim ran a hardware store along the Thika-Garissa highway, where he met his tragic end after being stabbed during a daytime attack on January 18.
Witnesses reported seeing him being forcibly taken to a waiting car as he resisted the assault. The assailant subsequently stabbed him in the chest and head before making a quick escape.
The lifeless body was later discovered on the veranda of his hardware store, showing visible multiple stab wounds on the hands, stomach, and head.
As of now, the police have not made any arrests or determined the motive behind the attack. A manhunt for the assailant is actively underway. The body has been transported to General Kago’s mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination.
Simultaneously, authorities are looking into another incident in Mlolongo town, Machakos County, where a 33-year-old mechanic, Joseph Kathiaka, lost his life.
He was working on a trailer at his workplace when the cabin of the truck slipped off, pressing him on the head against the chassis on a Sunday morning.
Rescued and rushed to Shalom Hospital, Joseph succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. His body has been taken to the hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination.
