Sauti Sol’s Bien mocks MCSK

Sauti Sol’s Bien mocks MCSK.

Bien-Aime Baraza one of Sauti sol member decided to be sarcastic after receiving Sh14, 634 from the Music Copyright Society of Kenya as royalties.

On Saturday morning, he shared a screenshot of the MPesa message he had received from MCSK putting on display his earnings.

It is not yet clear if the Sh14K is for Sauti Sol as a group or Bien as a solo artiste.

“Let the weekend begin. I’M RICH BITCH!!!!! Where the hoes at. We balling out of control this weekend. Your number 1 artist has been paid royalties. I can only imagine what upcoming artists like @khaligraph_jones are getting. DM with today’s plan,” he wrote.

This however has not been the first time Kenyan artistes are receiving small amount of money in the name of royalties from MCSK and other bodies tasked to collect money on behalf of the artistes.

Kenyans in the entertainment sector have perennially complained about how much they receive from the government as royalties for the use of their copyrighted work.

Several musicians have taken to social media to share with their fans the amount of money they had received from MCSK, expressing displeasure on how they are being paid.
