A TikTok Senior Marketing Officer Leaves Office

Jessica Wong, a senior marketing executive at TikTok, is leaving the company to pursue new ventures in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Ms Wong joined TikTok in 2018 and held various key marketing roles, including overseeing entertainment, music, sports, and gaming categories. She also spearheaded non-traditional marketing initiatives and collaborations with influencers.

“Among the countless initiatives, a few stand out as highlights. From TikTok’s first global brand campaign, “It Starts on TikTok,” that awarded us Ad Age’s Marketers of the Year in 2020, to co-creating the National Football League (NFL) TikTok Tailgate amidst the challenges of a global pandemic, to the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt licensing program that generated substantial revenue for the company, each endeavor has been a testament to our collective creativity & brilliance.”

Her departure comes as she expresses a growing interest in AI and its potential impact on businesses and society.

She plans to actively participate in the conversation surrounding this evolving technology.

Via LinkedIn she noted: “What’s Next? As I dive into new frontiers, I’m working on some things that fulfill my personal & professional passions, and I have dedicated myself to taking in all things #AI. As a business leader, you have to think about how AI will change your business. But AI will not only change businesses, it will transform our lives at large. We’ve only just started to scratch the surface. What AI will do is almost unimaginable – but we need to participate in the conversations. I invite you to join me. It’s going to be an exciting time!”
