Here’s How You Can Add a Link to Your Instagram Story

After a few months of testing, Instagram has confirmed that Link Stickers are now available to all users around the world, regardless of how many followers they have.

For years, the only method to share a link on Instagram Stories was to be verified or have more than 10,000 followers, both of which could be done with a swipe up.

In June, Instagram tried out letting anyone to use a Sticker to add links to their Stories. Instagram continued to employ Stickers instead of the swipe up in August, but only for verified profiles and those with 10,000 or more followers.

However, Instagram has now agreed to allow anyone to publish links using Stickers on Stories, regardless of size.

It is easy to share links using Instagram Stories, and it’s open to all users. We’ll show you how to use Instagram’s basic feature for embedding hyperlinks to websites or articles in Stories.

This is fantastic news for up-and-coming musicians who wish to sell tickets and merchandise instead of pointing fans to “the link in the bio.”

A Link Sticker, unlike the conventional swipe-up method, displays the URL, allowing the user to know where they will be redirected to before proceeding. DMs on Stories with links can still be sent using the new technique.

The “Links” sticker is restricted to one per Story.

How to Incorporate Links into Instagram Stories

  • To start a new Story, swipe right or tap the + icon in the top right corner of the Instagram app.
  • Take a picture or video, or upload one from your camera roll.
  • To access Stickers, swipe up or tap the smiley face in the top right corner.
  • Click the Link button.
  • Enter the URL, then press the Done button.
  • Change the color of the link and make any other changes to your Story before tapping Send to and selecting where to send it.

The feature does not appear to have been rolled out to all users yet.

New accounts and those that violate Facebook/Instagram’s Community  Guidelines, will no longer be able to access Link Stickers in an effort to restrict harmful content on the app.
