When applying for a new number plate, you will need the following documents if you have recently imported a new car.
- Copy of national ID of the vehicle owner or a valid Passport.
- KRA Pin certificate Import entry form (Form 63)
- Airway Bill
- Insurance cover Duty and VAT receipts
- Import Declaration Form (IDF)
- Foreign log book translated into English
- Port Release Order
- Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) if the vehicle is forcommercial use.
- Foreign Vehicle Receipt/License
- Clean Report of Findings (CRF)
- A temporary Importation Document (Form C44A or C44)
- A duly filled Form personally signed by the importer
- Authority to enter goods for home use from the Commissioner of Customs & Excise
- Road manifest or Carnet de Passages in the case of vehicles imported by road.
After you’ve double-checked that you have all of the necessary documentation, you can apply for a new license plate.
The vehicle will be registered and new number plates will be supplied if the registrar accepts your request.
