Jimmy Wanjigi Speaks.

  • Jimmy Wanjigi has opened up about his offices’ night raid, linking Raila and Uhuru to his difficulties on Tuesday night, January 18, 2022 at 2:44 a.m.
  • He was invaded by armed cops at his Westlands offices.

Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi had a long Monday night. The presidential candidate blamed his problems on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga, in a statement. He stated the police invasion was most likely tied to the statements he made over the weekend when he rebuked Raila. He spoke out about the late-night operation on his Kwacha Group of Companies offices on Monday, saying that the officers who raided his offices wanted him to record a statement.

The tycoon, who announced his state house run last year, had his offices raided by police from the Criminal Investigation Department at about 9.30 p.m. on Monday. Wanjigi compared the Monday raid to the one that occurred at his Muthaiga house in 2017. He claimed law enforcement officers asked that he travel to the CID headquarters and make a statement.

All they were telling my lawyers is that they want me to go to CID to write a statement and that it is something which I should be there; but I wonderered what the statement is for. he said

The CID officers were dressed in white protective clothing identical to that worn by health professionals dealing with COVID-19 victims. In a recent statement by Wanjigi’s , the presidential candidate claimed that the cops’ raid was related to his recent statements, which he believes rubbed some people the wrong way.

This weekend I was very clear about various personalities and it seems I seem to be making some of my friends uncomfortable because one wonders why there could be such use of force. he continued

He was speaking in reference to the utterances in which he blasted ODM leader Raila Odinga for vying for the presidency and also accused him of political betrayal.

…you can’t keep having a season of Raila Amolo Odinga. My brother Raila Odinga is my friend and he hasn’t wronged me. However, the Raila I watch on TV is not the one who fought for the democracy of this nation, who fought for the common mwananchi until he was detained fighting for the country’s liberation, Wanjigi had said .

In his statement on the raid, Wanjigi further faulted the Orange Party’s leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta for his problems, claiming that they are unhappy with his candidacy. Despite Raila’s support in 2017, when he defended him from the Jubilee government, he regretted that he was unable to defend himself.

Uhuru Kenyatta should come out and say it and to imagine that my friend Raila Odinga, who I was almost killed for, is sitting with him probably somewhere enjoying this spectacle is the saddest thing of all. One is only good when you’re supporting them. the businessman said
