A renowned director and scriptwriter, Charles made significant contributions to various film projects, including ‘Makutano Junction,’ ‘The First Grader,’ and ‘Count It Out.’

Charlie’s television appearances in shows like ‘The Know Zone Changing Times’ (KTN), ‘Higher Learning,’ ‘Changes,’ ‘Mali’ (NTV), ‘Second Family,’ ‘Crime and Justice’ (Showmax), and ‘Salem’ (Maisha Magic) added to his multifaceted career.

His exceptional talents earned him numerous accolades, notably the esteemed title of Best Director at the 2016 Asian American Film Lab 72 Hour Shoot Out and multiple awards from the NYC Indie Film Awards.

Ciru Muriuki, a former BBC Africa presenter, and Charles had delightedly shared news of their engagement in September 2023, capturing the hearts of many with their endearing moments.

Charles, the beloved actor, director, scriptwriter, and events manager, joined the frame with a radiant smile, confirming the joyous occasion.

The grieving family has requested everyone to respect the privacy of Ciru Muriuki and the Ouda family during this challenging time. Further details will be shared in due course.
