Namibia President Is Dead.

 

Namibia is in a state of mourning as the nation bids farewell to its revered leader, President Hage Geingob, who peacefully passed away in the early hours of Sunday, February 4th, at the age of 82. President Orders Dismissal Of 4 State Officials

 

The solemn announcement was conveyed through x.com, formerly known as Twitter, signaling the conclusion of a significant chapter in the country’s history mere weeks after President Geingob’s cancer diagnosis.

 

Acting President Dr. Nangolo Mbumba shared the poignant news in a statement, delivering the sorrowful message that marks the end of an era for Namibia.

 

 

“Announcement of the Passing of H.E Dr @hagegeingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, 04 February 2024. Fellow Namibians, It is with utmost sadness and regret that I inform you that our beloved Dr. Hage G. Geingob, the President of the Republic of Namibia has passed on today, Sunday 4 February 2024 at around 00h04 at Lady Pohamba Hospital where he was receiving medical treatment from his medical team. At his side, was his dear wife Madame Monica Geingos and his children.”

 

In spite of the dedicated efforts of his medical team, President Hage Geingob ultimately succumbed to the relentless fight against cancer.

 

The initial revelation of the diagnosis emerged on January 24, prompting the President’s pursuit of medical treatment in the United States.

 

After the identification of potential cancerous cells through colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and biopsy procedures, Geingob underwent an innovative therapy in Los Angeles.

 

An update on January 31 conveyed his return to Namibia and subsequent admission to a local hospital.

 

 

 

“Update on the Medical Treatment of President Hage G. Geingob. The Presidency wishes to inform the Namibian public that President @hagegeingob returned from the United States of America last night, Wednesday 31 January 2024, following a two-day novel treatment for cancerous cells. President Geingob is currently at a hospital in Windhoek.”

 

Recognizing the severity of his health condition, President Hage Geingob embraced the opportunity extended by scientists and medical professionals in Los Angeles to undergo a groundbreaking therapy.

 

 

 

The statement said, “The Presidency would like to restate that the medical scientists and professionals who exceptionally invited President Geingob to undertake the novel treatment, which is still in a trial phase, have committed to roll out the technology to Namibia for the benefit of other Namibians after final approvals have been obtained.

 

President Geingob will be undergoing the totality of the treatment for the cancerous cells in Namibia.”

 

The statement, in a gesture of gratitude, conveyed President Hage Geingob’s appreciation for the steadfast support, prayers, and well-wishes extended by Namibians, global leaders, and friends.
