The grim discovery came just a day after her estranged husband, 32-year-old Henry Muiruri Mwaura, was found deceased in the same vicinity, having apparently taken his own life on January 16.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspected murder and suicide.

In a separate incident, authorities are looking into the death of an unidentified man whose body was found floating in the Indian Ocean in the Kijipwa area.

The lifeless remains were located along the shores of the Indian Ocean near Vipingo Beach. Police, aided by the public, successfully retrieved the decomposed body.

The deceased has been transported to Kilifi mortuary for identification and autopsy.

Police are considering the possibility that the man was either deliberately killed and disposed of in the water or accidentally drowned.
