The little girl was playing with friends when she slid and plummeted to the ground floor, landing headfirst. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries minutes later, as confirmed by the police in the Monday night incident.
After the fall, she was swiftly taken to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to officials.
Upon investigation, the police determined that the girl had slid through grills at the staircase before falling.
In separate incidents, authorities are probing cases of electrocution in Machakos and Kwale.
The first incident occurred in Athi River, where 28-year-old Davis Lumumba was electrocuted at a construction site on Saturday.
Lumumba, an electrician, was instructed by a manager to disconnect a spotlight and connect a drill, leading to the tragic electrocution when he touched a live naked wire.
He was rushed to Shalom Community Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
In Msambweni, Kwale, a 20-year-old man was discovered electrocuted as he allegedly attempted to vandalize a copper cable on a high-voltage power line along zero-zero Base Titanium road at Bumamani village.
Police recovered a hacksaw from the scene as evidence. The bodies have been transferred to the mortuary pending autopsy.
