Mike Sonko takes Boxing Legend Conjestina back To Rehab.

Once again, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shown his support for former boxing champion Conjestina Achieng’ by facilitating her enrollment in rehabilitation for the third time.

In a statement, Sonko expressed disappointment over Achieng’s admission to the Mombasa Women’s Rehabilitation Centre, highlighting that his previous endeavors to assist the boxer had been undermined.

“Even though our chances in Conjestina’s healing journey were watered down, I’m a person who doesn’t give up in life. It is for this reason that we have given Conjestina the third and last chance again on her case. I just want to let the public know that she was readmitted at the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre where she will start her treatment afresh under the care of a group of specialists, including councillors, consultants and physiatrists,” Sonko stated.

A week ago, media personality Carol Radull disclosed that the former female boxing champion had experienced a relapse.

In 2022, Mike Sonko had facilitated Conjestina Achieng’s admission to the Mombasa Women Empowerment Network Hospital in Miritini, where she remained until her full recovery.

This intervention was prompted by a plea from Conjestina’s son, Charltone, seeking assistance for his mother who had been grappling with mental health issues.

After completing her rehabilitation program, Conjestina was discharged in June 2023, showing promising signs of being on the path to recovery. However, Carol Radull’s recent revelation indicates a setback in her journey towards sustained well-being.
