Forbes lists Kenya’s richest artists.

Recently, Forbes released a list of the richest people in Africa in different categories and one of them was the richest artists in Africa. On top of the list was a Nigerian artist but what every Kenyan was scrolling for was a Kenyan artist’s name. The first on the list was Esther Akoth, famously known as Akothee, who rose to fame in 2008 due to her music and bold personality which caught people’s attention.

The self-proclaimed President of single mothers is a mother of five kids and the founder of Akothee Safaris, a traveling agency. Her net worth is estimated at Ksh 1.09 billion. She was ranked 15th in Africa followed by Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati whose net worth is estimated to be at Ksh 1.6 billion.

 

Bahati rose to fame with his hit song “Mama,” which became popular around East Africa. The EMB records founder, a father of four, bought his wife Diana a house in 2018 which he claimed to be worth Ksh 10 million. The gospel artist turned secular musician is also an entrepreneur.

Sauti Sol, a group of four men, Bien Aime, Savara, Chimano and guitarist Polycarp is worth a whooping Ksh 2.2 billion. Their group was formed in 2005 and ever since, they have done hit after hit with local and international artists all around the world.

Musician turned politician Charles Njagua (Jaguar), is also in the list of rich Kenyan musicians with his net worth being estimated at Ksh 986 million. The kigeugeu hit maker owns luxurious cars and a luxurious mansion. He is also a member of parliament .

Also on the list is King Kaka who when asked by Tuko news about his worth, and if he owns businesses said his grandma told him to not talk about how much money he has. The Kaka Empire founder and owner is also among the richest of Kenyan artists.
