Singer Cum Songwriter Jacob Obunga popularly known as Otile Brown was born on March 21, 1994, and brought up in Mikindani, Mombasa, Kenya.

Otile Brown is the youngest of four children, with three brothers and a sister. When he was 14 years old, his parents died.

Otile never met his father because he and his mother had separated, and his father moved to Kisumu while Otile stayed in Mombasa with his mother. The musician spent his childhood in Kisumu, Kenya, visiting his grandmother and stepmother.

Otile Brown began writing songs and performing at the age of 13 in Mombasa before moving to Nairobi in 2012.

Otile Brown met Comedian Jalang’o in Nairobi, who offered to assist him. After connecting him with Music Producer/Video Director Dr. Eddie, who runs Dreamland Music, Jalang’o financed Otile Brown’s first song.

After hearing Otile Brown’s debut rap song, Jalang’o recommended him to pursue a singing career rather than rapping.

Dr. Eddie later signed Otile to his record label Dreamland Music, and he was the first musician to do so.

Following a dispute, Otile Brown cut ties with Dr. Eddie’s Record Label in 2017

Dreamland Music was not pleased with the change, and he was eventually barred from using all of the songs he recorded under the label.

Otile Brown released his first album, Best of Otile Brown, in the same year (2017).

Later on, Otille Brown and Dr. Eddie reconciled their differences and resumed their collaboration. Dr. Eddie was seen filming one of Otile Brown’s music videos in 2021.

Otile created his own record label, “Just in Love Music,” in 2019, with vocalist Jovial as his first signing. The songstress, on the other hand, did not stay long at the stable, as she left in June of the same year.

The two are however on good terms as they recently released another collabo.

On November 20th, 2019, Otile Brown was involved in a collision at Yaya Centre involving his Mercedes Benz and a boda boda driver transporting two passengers.

The singer had to purchase a new motorcycle for the rider, whom he identified as Yassin Maina Richard, as a result of the terrible occurrence.

Despite the fact that the singer was unharmed, his Mercedes Benz suffered significant damage, with the front bumper guard falling off and the bonnet dented.
