Famous TikToker Khaby Lame granted Italian Citizenship after 21years.

Khaby Lame, the most followed TikToker has finally been awarded Italian citizenship. After being a resident of Italy from the age of one, he earned his citizenship in a ceremony in his hometown of Chivasso, which is located near to Turin in the northern Piedmont area.

On June 8th, a few weeks prior to him becoming the most followed user on TikTok, the Italian interior ministry informed him of his citizenship.

On Wednesday, August 17, 2020, the 22-year-old was granted Italian citizenship, although he still had his Senegalese passport.

Speaking to reporters, Khaby Lame said he felt a huge sense of responsibility for the oath he took and was really proud of his citizenship.

When Italy was placed under lockdown during the COVID-19, Khaby Lame lost his job which led him to begin creating TikTok videos.
